At MCLStead we're using Building Information Modelling (BIM) and point cloud technology to drive smarter, more coordinated project outcomes with Construction Workshop. From early planning and earthworks through to structural, architectural, and services coordination, BIM is helping our teams deliver accurate, efficient and cost-effective construction on every stage of Napier City Council's Te Kete Project.
We're leveraging BIM to deliver smarter, more coordinated project outcomes. A full block point cloud scan* provides accurate existing conditions data, enabling precise planning and efficient earthworks sequencing. *a point cloud scan takes millions of 3D photographed data points to create a surface of objects.
Throughout the coordination stage, BIM models are driving a collaborative approach to structural coordination, constructability and the production of precise fabrication and shop drawing packages. The result is accurate, well-planned documentation that enables efficient, cost-effective construction on site.
Point cloud and BIM models are supporting the coordination of the strengthening works package for the existing office tower. This technology and approach are being used to plan and coordinate architectural, structural and services packages, ensuring accurate, well-coordinated outcomes.
By embracing BIM and point cloud technology, we're building smarter, more collaborative, and better coordinated projects from start to finish.
